Saint-Hyacinthe, May 16, 2025 – The Swine and Poultry Infectious Diseases Research Center (CRIPA) enthusiastically participated in the event La Grande Visite of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Université de Montréal, on Friday, May 9 and Saturday, May 10. Nearly 3,000 people visited the campus during these two days, where many curious people stopped at the kiosk hosted by Gabriela Silva-Guerra, communication officer, and Cécile Crost, CRIPA coordinator.

The CRIPA kiosk allowed the public to discover, in a fun and interactive way, the work of the research center. Visitors could:
Observe pig brain cells under a microscope
Exploring blood agar, coagulated blood and infected blood
Manipulate an ELISA plate
Pick a bacterium or virus word and learn three facts about it
Take a mini quiz to test their knowledge of swine and poultry infectiology
Postcards, stickers, coloring pages, and career and scholarship brochures were also given to young and old.

This initiative has raised awareness of CRIPA's essential role in animal health research and raised public awareness of the importance of preventing infectious diseases in farm animals.
